That’s according to my man Jack Dorsey, Twitter and Square CEO. He has made this statement at the Joe Rogan podcast, which has more than 4.4M subscribers.
That’s what Jack said: “I believe the Internet will have a native currency and I don’t know if it’s Bitcoin. I think it will be [Bitcoin] given all the tests it has been through and the principles behind it, how it was created. It was something that was born on the Internet, was developed on the Internet, was tested on the Internet, [and] it is of the Internet.”
That’s the belief for you, I love his conviction and positive thinking. Btw, Square supports BTC solely and has no plans to add other cryptos to the Square Cash App. Bitcoin actually helped Square to reach out far more users than mainstream channels. That’s because the leading crypto allows easier access to financial services, according to Dorsey. If one sees the Internet as a digital universe of a single nature, Bitcoin handsomely follows the logic of being its only currency.
You can watch the full podcast here; there are lots of cool things, including my favorite one-liner from Dorsey, addressing crypto critics: “Technology will continue to march on and make you irrelevant.” Tell’em, bro!
